I've been on -3.0D glasses for all my adult life. I ocassionaly put on contact lens whenever I wanna go swimming or attend social situations where I wish to look "less nerdy". Kinda lame for a 38 year old, but don't we all have some lameness that we can't get rid of?
I've thought of getting a LASIK now and then, but never really progressed seriously towards getting one. To be honest, your post vividly describing your on-the-surgery-table experience has kinda scared me than giving me confidence :D

As intense as the lasik experience seems to be -- congrats on losing the spectacles! The pain seems to have been worth it.
Yeah! It was at most a week of pain for at least 1000 weeks of freedom, so totally worth it
